Adoption Background

JVCKENWOOD Corp. develops car navigation systems and dashcams in the car electronics sector. ROHM’s speech synthesis ICs have been integrated in the flagship Saisoku Navi Type M 2024 Edition.
This model features Saisoku technology that delivers high image quality and rapid response, along with the Type M option that enhances safety and convenience by supporting voice control, allowing drivers to operate the system without taking their hands from the steering wheel. The adoption of this technology was driven by the development of functionality to output operation sounds and warning tones to support the voice control feature.
To enhance performance, we proposed a speech synthesis IC with built-in Class D amp designed for short-duration playback. This IC enables high-quality sound output using simple commands, contributing to the improved functionality of Saisoku Navi.
