Digital transformation (DX) and the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) have provided significant convenience to our society. Meanwhile, the power consumption of data centers that support these technologies has been steadily increasing.
It is ROHM’s mission to contribute to solving this social issue by bringing together our long-held power and analog technologies to increase the power efficiency of servers to the maximum extent possible. In particular, improving the efficiency of power supplies and reducing the energy consumption of cooling systems are important themes for realizing a decarbonized society, because power supplies and cooling systems account for a significant percentage of the total power consumption of servers.
Our development, manufacture, and sales departments work together to propose solutions that proactively address customer needs proactively, including industry-leading SiC (silicon carbide) power devices, analog ICs that enable high-precision control, and various discrete components.
ROHM’s semiconductor technologies can achieve both energy saving and downsizing of customers’ server systems at a high level, while also enhancing reliability.
Toward the realization of a sustainable digital society, ROHM will work together with customers to create the future.

Technical information

Topology Selection

When designing circuits, especially power circuits, it's essential to choose a circuit configuration that aligns with the required specifications, as the input/output voltages, power levels, and isolation needs will vary by application. Optimal component selection also depends on the topology. Using inappropriate components can lead to performance shortfalls, potentially requiring a complete redesign of the circuit. ROHM’s topology selection page helps users identify the most suitable devices for various circuit designs.

ROHM provides a system-level evaluation board (solution board) that combines ROHM's IC and discrete products. We have already solved not only the characteristics of individual products but also the problems that may occur when combining them to build a system, thus contributing significantly to the reduction of development time for our customers.
