Electric Motorcycle
Extending the driving range of electric motorcycles requires reducing the power consumption of each unit while reducing weight through system miniaturization.
ROHM's silicon power semiconductors deliver high efficiency in compact form factors in applications such as main inverters and DC-DC converters, enhancing system performance. What's more, ROHM is expanding its product lineup to support a wide range of battery systems operating from 48V to over 96V.
ROHM’s Approach to Functional Safety
ROHM has established dedicated lines for automotive products while developing products that comply with quality management system (IATF 16949) and electronic component reliability (AEC-Q100/101/200) standards.
In 2015, we began establishing an ISO 26262 process to address functional safety, and in March 2018 acquired ISO 26262 development process certification from 3rd party certification body TÜV Rheinland, demonstrating our proactive commitment to improving automotive safety.
Reference Design
ROHM provides a system-level evaluation board (solution board) that combines ROHM's IC and discrete products. We have already solved not only the characteristics of individual products but also the problems that may occur when combining them to build a system, thus contributing significantly to the reduction of development time for our customers.
Topology Selection
When designing power supply circuits, it is necessary to select a circuit configuration (topology) that meets the required specifications, as the input/output voltages, power, isolation, and other factors will vary depending on the application. Selection of the optimal components will also differ based on the topology. Selecting the wrong components can lead to a failure to meet the required specifications, necessitating a complete redesign of the circuit. ROHM’s topology selection page guides users in selecting the optimal devices for various topologies.
ROHM Solution Simulator
ROHM Solution Simulator is a new web-based electronic circuit simulation tool that can carry out a variety of simulations, from initial development that involves component selection and individual device verification to the system-level verification stage.
