ROHM’s high efficiency SiC SBDs and considerable development support capabilities contribute to the commercialization of TDK's new naturally air-cooled 600W AC-DC power supply
Generally, AC-DC devices that handle large amounts of power generate heat, making it important to take heat dissipation measures, such as by implementing forced air cooling using an external fan.
When developing AC-DC power supplies, TDK-Lambda focused on SiC, which features higher heat resistance and greater efficiency than silicon under high power conditions. ROHM SiCs were selected due to their low VF, excellent balance between IFSM and recovery characteristics, and a comprehensive support system.
High efficiency operation allows ROHM’s onboard SiC SBDs to significantly contribute to the commercialization of the TDK-Lambda's first fanless, naturally air-cooled 600W AC-DC power supply.

In addition to the difficulty of developing a fanless naturally air-cooled 600W power supply, the challenge was to target Class B of various EMI standards* by achieving superior noise characteristics with low loss.
ROHM SiC SBDs provided an excellent balance between recovery performance and low VF that proved useful in solving this problem. Also, I believe the quick submission of samples contributed to smooth product development.

There are two standards, Class A (for industrial equipment), and Class B (no usage restrictions) depending on the application, with Class B having more stringent requirements
