USB Power Derivery

ROHM's BD93FxxMWV/BD93FxxMWV series of power receiving controller ICs support the latest USB Power Delivery (USB USB PD) protocol with the USB Type-C connector.
Compatibility with USB Type-C Rev1.3 and USB PD Rev3.0 makes it possible to receive and deliver up to 100W (20V/5A).
This enables devices with larger power requirements to be driven such as notebook PCs and TVs that could not be powered by conventional USB. At the same time, it can be applied to rapid battery chargers by taking advantage of its high power supply specifications.
The BD93FxxMWV series adopts the MAP QFN package while the BD93ExxGWL series is offered in the the space-saving CSP.
And for USB Type C power receiving applications up to 15W (5V/3A) that do not require USB PD, the BD91N01NUX power receiver switch control IC is recommended.

BD93F10MWV Advantages

Capable of receiving up to 100W (min. power requirement 80W) by supporting USB PD via USB Type C.
Power reception is possible using external pins (GPIO), making it easy to achieve optimal power settings for a variety of applications without coding firmware.
What's more, the VBUS pins in the USB connector can be used as a power source for applications without a battery.
Both series are designed with a high CC terminal withstand voltage that provides robust protection against CC terminal breakdown.

BD93E11GWL Advantages

Capable of receiving up to 100W (min. power requirement 80W) by supporting USB PD via USB Type C.
Power reception is possible using external pins (GPIO), making it easy to achieve optimal power settings for a variety of applications without coding firmware.
What's more, the VBUS pins in the USB connector can be used as a power source for applications without a battery.
The space saving CSP (Chip Scale Package) is ideal for compact devices.

BD91N01NUX Advantages

Supports only USB Type C, capable of receiving up to 15W of power.
USB Type C supplies conventional USB power/7.5W (5V/1.5A)/15W (5V/3A) depending on the voltage at the CC pins.
The BD91N01NUX uses this CC terminal voltage to determine the power supply capability of the connected device. It can also monitor the VBUS voltage and turn OFF the VBUS line switch for abnormally high voltages.
This makes it ideal for switching connectors from conventional USB (microB) to USB Type C, and receiving up to 15W through USB Type C.
