ROHM's BM92AxxMWV series of power receiving controller ICs support the latest USB Power Delivery (USBPD) protocol with the USB Type-C connector. Compatibility with USB Type-C Rev1.1 and USBPD Rev2.0 makes it possible to supply up to 100W (20V/5A) between USB Type-C devices that up to now was limited to 7.5W. As a result, even devices with larger power requirements such as notebook PCs and TVs can be powered from a USB port. And for conventional USB equipped applications (i.e. smartphones, tablets) faster charging is enabled. In addition, functional optimization and miniaturization are achieved by leveraging advanced micro 0.13um BiCDMOS and high voltage processes along with circuit technology.
