I would like to estimate the amounts of heat generated by the different components for use in thermal design. What kinds of methods are there--manual calculations, simulations, something else?
There are two types of heat generation estimates; they can be calculated from thermal resistances, or the method of calculating using a thermal fluid simulator can be used. Manual calculations are based on thermal resistances. The thermal resistances and other parameters needed for these calculations should be provided by the data sheets for the various components. For calculation methods, please refer to the following document. Related Link : Technical Document
