ROHM Selected the Asia-Pacific Climate Leaders 2025 List for the First Time
ROHM Co., Ltd. has been included in the Asia-Pacific Climate Leaders 2025 list for the first time, recognizing the top 350 companies for their contributions to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, jointly compiled by the Financial Times and Statista.
The survey targeted over 2,000 companies with headquarters in the Asia-Pacific region and evaluated their greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction efforts from 2018 to 2023 based on data provided by the participating companies. The evaluation considered each company's reduction rate of GHG emissions relative to its revenue, as well as indicators such as the transparency of Scope 3 emissions, the CDP score, and the attainment of Science-Based Targets (SBT) certification.
<Environmental Initiatives>
ROHM has declared its commitment to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions in our ROHM Group Environmental Vision 2050.
・Climate Change Countermeasures
We have set targets such as reducing GHG emissions (Scope 1 and 2※1) by 50.5% or more compared to fiscal 2018 levels by fiscal 2030. We are working globally to reduce energy consumption through the introduction of environmentally friendly equipment and energy conversion. Starting in 2024, we have expanded third-party verification to achieve a 100% verification rate for Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions calculated internally. Additionally, we have introduced an Internal Carbon Pricing (ICP) system to advance decarbonization initiatives.
Furthermore, we have announced a plan to source 100% of the electricity used in all our business activities in Japan and overseas from renewable energy by FY2050. Multiple sites, including major overseas production plants, are already operating on 100% renewable energy, with an introduction rate of 45.7% as of FY2024. We plan to increase this rate to 65% by FY2030.
Furthermore, in FY2024, we were selected for the CDP Climate Change A List by CDP, an international non-profit organization that evaluates and certifies the environmental strategies and initiatives of companies and other organizations. This is the first time that ROHM has been selected for the Climate Change A List Company, the highest rating, in the climate change category.
ROHM will use this evaluation as motivation to continue promoting environmental conservation activities and addressing social issues, aiming to create a sustainable society and become a company that meets the expectations of its stakeholders.
