Join "Youngsters' Science Festival"

ROHM Wako Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as ROHM Wako) has been participating in the Science Festival for Youth since 2000, conducting activities to convey the appeal of science to local children. The purpose of this event is to enable children to experience the fun and wonder of science through experiments and Monozukuri (Manufacturing), and to nurture their interest and curiosity in nature and science.

ROHM Wako has set up a hands-on booth featuring LED wind power generation kits to help children experience the joy of completing a project with their own hands. The sparkle in the eyes of the children when they hold their finished projects is a sign that they have taken their first step toward an interest in science. Through these activities, ROHM Wako aims to contribute to the development of the next generation and realize a sustainable future while valuing its connections with local communities.

Family Day Event

ROHM Wako holds factory tours for employees and their families. The purpose of this initiative is to give them a closer look at our business activities and workplace environment, and to deepen their understanding of our social contributions.

As part of the tour, we held a parent-child workshop where participants tried their hand at building FOLO, a six-legged robot equipped with infrared radar.

By working together as a family on this advanced electronics project, participants shared the joy and sense of accomplishment that comes with creating something from scratch. Through such experiences, we aim to inspire children's interest in science, technology, and manufacturing, while also enhancing employee motivation and engagement.

ROHM Wako will continue to value our connections with employees, their families, and the local community as we strive to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.

Workshop for Junior High School Students

ROHM Wako is inviting junior high school students from Kasaoka city every year to offer opportunity of workplace experience.

To offer opportunity for the students to create image of working, we will continue this activity and contribute to local people.

Cleanup Activity Around Our Facilities

ROHM Wako is conducting cleaning activities around facilities regularly.

Large amount of trash is gathered every time, and most of the trash was cigarettes and empty cans thrown away from the vehicles along the freeway Route 2.

Coastal Cleanup Activities

ROHM Wako participates in the coastal cleanup activities organized by Kasaoka City every year. The Refresh Seto Inland Sea "Coastal Cleanup Operation" is conducted for the purpose of protecting the beautiful Seto Inland Sea, and employees and their families who gather at the company's call participate in the cleanup activities around the reclaimed embankment in Kasaoka Bay. Kasaoka Bay is a breeding ground for horseshoe crabs, which are called "living fossils," and this cleanup activity also contributes to the preservation of the horseshoe crab's growing environment. ROHM Wako will continue to participate in this initiative and contribute to environmental conservation in Kasaoka City.

Food Drive Activities

ROHM Wako held a food drive. This food drive has been held twice a year since 2021. During the event, a wide range of donated items were collected, including not only food such as retort pouch foods and canned foods, but also towels, dishes, and other daily necessities. The collected items were donated to the NPO "Harmony Net Mirai".
