Optical Sensor for Heart Rate Monitor - BH1790GLC
ROHM’s BH1790GLC optical sensor for heart rate monitors is optimized for wearable devices such as smart watches and sports bands. Leveraging analog circuit technology along with optical sensor expertise provides improved sensitivity, allowing high accuracy detection of pulse waves even with low LED brightness. This makes it possible to reduce power consumption by 74%, extending battery life and improving accuracy in environments with high IR presence.
In addition, the ability to detect high quality pulse signals using low VF low brightness LED elements eliminates the need for DC/DC circuits for LED power supply conventionally required, decreasing mounting area by 30% and lightening development load.
