Update Regarding the Workplace Accident at SiCrystal GmbH

With this update, we would like to inform you of the current status and our next steps regarding the workplace accident that occurred on May 15, 2026, at SiCrystal GmbH.

First and foremost, we would like to once again express our deepest condolences to the family of the employee who lost his life in this incident and offer our sincere sympathy to all those affected. We wholeheartedly wish those injured in this incident a full recovery.

The workplace accident occurred on May 15, 2026, at approximately 11:30 a.m. at the Nuremberg site. During the course of an operational process, a chemical reaction occurred that resulted in the release of gas. The exact composition of said gas is the subject of ongoing chemical analyses. As a result, one employee died. Eleven other employees were examined at the hospital; one of them was admitted for inpatient treatment and discharged on Monday (May 18). According to the fire department, there was no danger to the surrounding population at any time.

The circumstances of the accident are currently being investigated in cooperation with the authorities. Since this investigation is still ongoing and the exact sequence of events has not yet been clarified, no further details can be provided at this time. We kindly ask for your understanding.

Since ensuring the safety of our employees is our top priority, we have resumed operations gradually, starting on June 1, 2026. in close consultation with the authorities and with the necessary precautions in place. The company continues to provide support to all affected employees at all times.

The supply security of our customers is not expected to be significantly affected by the operational interruption.

In addition, ROHM Group takes this matter very seriously and will further strengthen safety initiatives and training not only at the affected site but across all group locations.
