A serious incident occurred at SiCrystal GmbH on May 15, 2026, in which one employee was fatally injured. First and foremost, we express our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased and all those affected by this tragic event. According to initial information, the incident involved the release of toxic gas at around 11:30 a.m. (CEST).
Several other individuals were also injured and are currently receiving medical care.
Emergency services responded immediately, and employees were evacuated as a precaution to ensure their safety.
Support, including access to counselling services, has been provided to employees at the site.
We are currently working closely with the relevant authorities to investigate the circumstances and causes of the incident.
In addition, in order to ensure the safety of employees and the local community as well as to support the investigation, operations have been temporarily suspended. No damage to buildings or facilities, nor any gas leakage beyond the site, has been reported.
