Feature.1   
Analog video signals can be into input the latest SoC

In addition to the conventional LVTTL signal*, MIPI CSI-2* is often used as in-vehicle SoC interface.
The ML86112 has two signal outputs, and it's possible to connecte to various SoC.
It is possible to easily connect an analog camera to the automobile system.

  • LVTTL :
    Low Voltage Transistor Transistor Logic : The ML86112 outputs ITU-R BT.656 format signals.
  • MIPI CSI-2 :
    Mobile Industry Processor Interface (MIPI) : Mobile Industry Processor Interface (MIPI) : An interface standard between the camera and the host processor.
  • Analog composite signal (CVBS) :
    An analog composite signal is a video signal that combines a synchronization signal, a luminance signal, and a color signal.
It is possible to input an analog video signal into the latest SoC.

Built-in I / P conversion function reduces SoC load

When displaying an analog composite video signal on an LCD monitor, it is necessary to convert the video signal from the interlaced method* to the progressive method*.
The I / P conversion function of the ML86112 outputs a progressive digital video signal to reduce the SoC load.

Term Description

  • Interlaced method :
    One image is divided into an odd field of odd-numbered scanning lines and an even-numbered field of even-numbered scanning lines.
    This is a method of transmitting odd-numbered fields first and then even-numbered fields. One image is displayed in two transmissions.
    By increasing the field frequency, this way can indicate a smooth picture of a movement by a small amount of information.
  • Progressive method :
    This is a method of transmitting all scanning lines of one video in order. One image is displayed in one transmission.
    Although the amount of data to be transmitted is twice that of the interlaced method, it can display clear images with high resolution.

The ML86112 uses a wettable flank package.
The solderability of the electrodes can be visually confirmed from the side of the package, preventing deterioration of assembly quality.
