Increasing the capacitance of the output capacitor will improve stability, but may negatively affect other characteristics. For example, excessive capacitance may cause the ON charge time and OFF discharge time to become too long, and as a result when the supply voltage is turned OFF and the voltages are reversed a large current may flow back to the IC. Therefore, when using a large capacitance please consider implementing backflow bypass and prevention diodes.Related Link:Technical Document
