VCSEL

Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL) is characterized by laser beam emission perpendicular to the top surface, achieved by configuring the resonator perpendicular to the substrate of the semiconductor element. It can be implemented in a smaller surface mount package compared with existing CAN type laser diodes. ROHM offers the very small VCSEL package on the market.
The lineup includes 200mW to 2W types optimized for light sources in 1D and 3D TOF (Time Of Flight) sensor applications.
