ROHM Selected for the Highest Rating "A List" in the CDP Water Security Survey
ROHM Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kyoto, Japan) has been recognized as a leading company in sustainability by Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), an international environmental non-profit organization, by being selected for the CDP's "Water Security A List", receiving the highest rating in the survey on water resource management.
CDP is an international environmental non-profit organization that operates a global environmental disclosure system for companies and municipalities. It conducts surveys and publishes environmental data regarding "climate change" and "water security." In 2022, the survey was conducted on behalf of more than 680 institutional investors and 200 major purchasing companies, with a record number of 13,000 companies responding to the survey. The survey employs an eight-tier evaluation scale with levels ranging from Leadership level (A, A-) to Management level (B, B-), Recognition level (C, C-) and Disclosure level (D, D-), based on criteria such as comprehensiveness of disclosure, identification and management of environmental risks, and ambitious target setting.
In the Environmental Vision 2050, ROHM has committed to maximizing resource recycling to eliminate the waste. Based on this commitment, we have set a target to increase the proportion of water recovery and reuse by at least 5.5% by 2030 (compared to 2019), and we are making efforts to reuse water resources and reduce factory wastewater by globally managing water withdrawal, wastewater, and water usage. In addition, to address risks such as flooding, we have implemented a business continuity management system, predicted potential risks, and made production continuity plans for each site, including measures in our facilities such as raising the floor on the factory's first floor. This year, the ROHM Group received the highest rating of A for these initiatives related to water resource. It is the third time since 2015 that the ROHM Group has received an A rating.
Also, the company was included in the "A- List" for "CDP Climate Change". (In 2021, ROHM was selected as a "B List" company.)
Encouraged by the evaluation results, ROHM will continue promoting CSR activities and addressing social issues in order to achieve a sustainable society and become a company that meets the expectations of our stakeholders.
