What kind of circuit should I use with the BD8152FVM switching regulator for an output voltage greater than 15V? We would like to have an input voltage of 52V and output of 55V/3A, but the switching terminal voltage and permissible power are over the rated values. In this case is it ok to use an external FET?
The BD8152FVM integrates a FET, making external FET drive, and therefore step-up 55V/3A output, impossible. However, inputting IC drive voltage (i.e. 12V) to the Vcc of the BD9306AFVM controller allows for high input/output voltage operation.
