If the input capacitance is too small the VDD voltage fluctuation may become exceedingly large due to the through-current during reset output switching, possibly causing malfunction. And particularly when externally setting the reset voltage using a resistor divider, as shown in the datasheet, there is the possibility of oscillation, so we recommend making the resistor divider value as small as possible and increase the input capacitance as much as possible. There is no restriction on the maximum value of input capacitance, except keep in mind that the rise/fall times of the power supply will become longer.
