What are the concerns when supplying voltage in the range from the recommended supply voltage to the absolute maximum rated voltage for the BA178xx/BA178Mxx/BA78xx/BA78Mxx series linear regulators?
When the input voltage is between the recommended supply voltage to the absolute maximum rated voltage the detection current of the safe operating area limiting circuit decreases and the max. output current is limited to 1A for the BA178xx series and 0.5A for the BA178Mxx series. Although the electrical characteristics are out of the guaranteed range, no deterioration or destruction should occur.Related Link:Technical Document1、Technical Document2
