Mangrove Forestation Activity

ROHM Integrated Systems Thailand Co., Inc. (RIST) has started the Mangrove forestation activity from 2018.

Mangroves have an excellent ability to absorb and fix CO₂, contributing to the mitigation of climate change. They also play an important role as windbreak forests that protect coastal areas from natural disasters such as tsunamis and storm surges. In addition, they contribute to the conservation of ecosystems as habitats for diverse organisms.

Through these activities, RIST values coexistence with nature and is promoting initiatives aimed at the realization of a sustainable society.

Basic Firefighting Training for Local Communities

Every year in RIST, we hold stakeholder dialogue with local residents to understand the goals and challenges for the company and the community, in order to decide on what initiatives we can take to move forwards on CSR activities and management.

Since 2017, we have established internal ERT (Emergency Response Team) and providing basic firefighting training for local communities.

Donation of Gift Baskets to Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation

RIST has continued to implement many activities for local organizations.

RIST has been donating gift baskets^* to four local organizations in the company's neighborhood every year to support volunteers who has a duty to maintain peace in the community and government facilities during the holidays and in the night time.

RIST will continuously conduct these activities to contribute to the community.

Gifts given during the period before and after New Year's: It is common in Thailand to exchange gifts in this season. RIST is donating gifts to local elementary schools, hospitals and local organizations every year.

Donation of Used Paper and Calendar to the Foundation for People with Visually Impaired.

Every year, RIST donates used paper and desk calendars to the Thai Foundation for the Blind.

These resources are recycled into braille books for people with visual impairments and used as valuable teaching materials that expand learning opportunities. We continue this initiative as a social contribution that not only makes effective use of resources but also supports the education of people with visual impairments.

Disaster Training Activities

RIST is conducting a “Disaster Training CAMP” for elementary school students in the local community, where they can learn about disaster preparedness in a fun and engaging way. Through games and hands-on activities, participants naturally acquire the knowledge and skills needed to respond appropriately in the event of a disaster.

Drawing on lessons learned from past flood experiences, we aim to work together with the local community to pass on life-saving knowledge and survival skills to future generations.

Tree Planting Events and Sapling Donations

RIST worked with local residents to organize a tree planting event and donated gardening supplies so that the trees could be grown safely. RIST also donated 60 home garden saplings for local residents to eat at home. The event not only protected the local environment, but also contributed to society and was greatly appreciated by local residents.

Accepted Students from Kyushu Institute of Technology

RIST welcomed students from Kyushu Institute of Technology for a factory tour with the aim of broadening the international perspective of the next generation of students and supporting their future career development.

RIST has been providing students with opportunities to learn about the appeal of the semiconductor industry and cutting-edge technologies through factory tours and internships. This initiative is part of those efforts, and we hope that the students will deepen their learning and gain a clearer picture of their future career paths by experiencing the actual manufacturing site.

We will continue to contribute to society by actively engaging in next-generation education as a bridge between industry and educational institutions.
