Carrying Out Point Duty for Traffic Safety

ROHM Apollo Co., Ltd. (ROHM Apollo) carry out point duty in places such as school routes in the Nakatsu area where the factory is located few times a year so that local children could go to school safely.

Through these activities, we will continue to contribute in creating a safe and secure community.

Participation in the Local Summer Festival

ROHM Apollo is participating in the Summer Festival "Kosumoppe" held in the Yukuhashi area on the 26th of August as a local company.

This festival is one of the typical events of the local area that is enlivened not only by various street stalls but also by activities such as mikoshi (portable shrine) carrying, group dancing by citizens, fireworks displays and other activities.

The company employees of ROHM Apollo participated in the "Imaichi tent" where drinks and sweets were offered to visitors, as well as in the "Otonamikoshi" where portable shrines are carried while walking and, in addition to contributing to the revitalization of the local area, employees were able to further develop their relationships with each other.

We heard comments from the company employees who participated such as "By participating in the major locally held event and carrying a portable shrine, we experienced a feeling of unity among employees that transcended organizational barriers," "Winning in the portable shrine performance division really moved me," "I was able to enjoy the fireworks set off while sitting in the special seats in the tent prepared by the company together with my family," amongst others.

We would like to establish a good relationship with local people through these activities, where employees can enjoy.

Accepting Factory Tours for Local Elementary and Junior High School Students and Their Families

ROHM Apollo holds a factory tours for local students and their families in conjunction with the Hirokawa-cho Board of Education.

After the factory tour, we also hold a experiments using electronic components for the students.

The participants said "We were moved when we found out that ROHM Apollo products are used inside such things as smartphones and cars which are so close to us."

Through these community-based CSR activities, we would like to contribute to the development of sustainable society.

Coastal Cleanup Activities

ROHM Apollo is actively engaged in beach cleaning activities at nearby seaside locations as part of its commitment to contributing to the local environment. On weekends, ROHM Apollo employees and their families volunteer to participate in these efforts, equipped with tongs and garbage bags. They carefully collect litter from the shore, sorting it into burnable and non-burnable waste.
This initiative reflects ROHM Apollo’s dedication to preserving the beautiful natural environment for future generations. It not only helps protect the local marine ecosystem but also serves as a valuable opportunity for employees and their families to deepen their awareness of environmental conservation.
ROHM Apollo will continue to walk alongside the community and carry out social contribution activities aimed at realizing a sustainable society.

Accepting Technical High School Students

As part of the semiconductor human resource development project "Green Device Development and Production Base Concept" in Fukuoka Prefecture, ROHM Apollo invited 40 third-year students of the Information Technology Department of Fukuoka Prefectural Yame Technical High School to visit us for three days to observe semiconductor manufacturing and attend lectures by our employees. This project aims to develop human resources capable of handling everything from operators to maintenance work in semiconductor-related industries after high school graduation, and to further improve their manufacturing skills by providing practical hands-on guidance by the company.

Participation in the “Girls Tech Program”

ROHM Apollo participated in the “Girls Tech Program” organized by Fukuoka Prefecture, aiming to inspire female high school students by showcasing the appeal and future potential of the semiconductor industry.
This program is designed to encourage female students—who traditionally have lower enrollment rates in science and engineering fields—to consider careers in technology. Through pre-learning sessions, company visits, and post-program analysis, participants gain a deeper understanding of technical fields.
At ROHM Apollo, female engineers led the factory tour, providing an introduction to the company, the basics of semiconductors, and the manufacturing process of SiC power devices. The engineers offered thoughtful explanations and engaged in meaningful interactions to help students visualize their future careers in a tangible way.
ROHM Apollo will continue to contribute to the development of future talent in the region and remain committed to activities that connect with society.
