For CMOS opamps, if a positive voltage is supplied to the input pin when the power supply is not turned ON or the supply voltage is 0V, will current flow from the input terminal to the power supply?
For CMOS opamps (products specified by VDD/VSS, V+/GND), if the diode between the input and supply pins is biased in the forward direction, current will flow, resulting in degradation and possibly destruction. As a countermeasure, insert a resistor in series to limit current flowing through the diode to less than 10mA. Also be sure to thoroughly evaluate the circuit.
