Conductive Polymer Capacitors

Conductive polymer capacitors use a conductive polymer for the cathode layer. Compared to manganese dioxide type tantalum capacitors, conductive polymer capacitors achieve a significantly lower ESR (equivalent series resistance). It is effective for flowing high ripple current and removing noise at high frequencies. In the event of a failure, the conductive polymer is insulated, providing a safe structure.
ROHM's conductive polymer capacitors are small, low-profile and have a large capacitance through a new and efficient package design. Compared to ceramic capacitors, there is no reduction in capacitance due to DC bias, and there is no ringing or vibration due to no piezoelectric characteristics.
