IGBT products
ROHM has produced a wide variety of IGBTs which are suitable for industrial and automotive applications. Our IGBT technology contributes to reduce power consumption with high reliability.
In particular we are expanding product lineup for automotive qualified IGBTs.
The RGP series is for the ignition system. Based on Gen 1 technology the product portfolio is expanding especially for higher voltage as well as higher avalanche energy. Also the Gen 2 process is under developing in order to improve a performance e.g. in the area of lower saturation voltage.
Moreover the RGS series of 650V has been mass produced, which target applications are the inverter and e-compressor. Also the 1200V type will be launched soon.
Overview
Expanding ignition IGBT lineup
ROHM's ignition IGBTs have been used for gasoline system of vehicles, motor cycles and industry applications.
Power train systems require less fuel consumption. Ignition systems directly affect the reduction of CO2 emissions, hence switching loss and robustness for ignition IGBT become more important.
ROHM's RGP series achieved low saturation voltage and high avalanche energy by improving the tradeoff performance.

650V and 1200V automotive qualified switching IGBTs
650V switching IGBTs which are suitable for inverter applications have been released.
One of the main automotive application is the e-compressor.
ROHM's RGS series guarantees enough short circuit withstand time.
Also the integration of a freewheeling diode into one package contributes to space saving.
Recently higher voltage battery tends to be equipped with advanced EV and PHEV cars to extend driving range.
Therefore 1200V lineup will be followed.
