200mA 3.3V or 5.0V Output LDO Regulators - BD433M2FP3-C

The BD4xxM2-C series are low quiescent regulators featuring 45 V absolute maximum voltage, and output voltage accuracy of ±2 % ( 3.3 V or 5.0 V: Typ.), 200 mA output current and 40 µA (Typ.) current consumption. These regulators are therefore ideal for applications requiring a direct connection to the battery and a low current consumption.
A logical “HIGH” at the CTL pin enables the device and “LOW” at the CTL pin not enables the device. (Only W: Includes switch) Ceramic capacitors can be used for compensation of the output capacitor phase. Furthermore, these ICs also feature overcurrent protection to protect the device from damage caused by short-circuiting and an integrated thermal shutdown to protect the device from overheating at overload conditions.

Table of resistance for output voltage setting on linear regulator Ics

This application notes provide tables for each series so that it is easy to set the resistance value for the output voltage setting from various internal reference voltages VREF.

Thermal Resistance

The definition and how to use thermal resistance and thermal characterization parameter of packages for ROHM’s integrated circuit are described in this application note.

Basics of Linear Regulators

A linear regulator, also referred to as a "three-terminal regulator" or "dropper," is a power supply long known to many designers owning to its simple circuitry and ease of use...

Very important information such as maximum ratings, operating conditions and characteristic graphs are described in the table.

Reverse Voltage Protection

A linear regulator integrated circuit (IC) is a DC-to-DC buck converter system that reduces a DC supply from higher voltage level to a lower voltage level...

Simple Test Method for Estimating the Stability of Linear Regulators

Low drop-out (LDO) regulators developed back in the age when large-capacitance multi-layer ceramic capacitors (hereinafter, MLCCs) were uncommon cause a phase delay, leading to oscillation when connected to a low-ESR capacitor like an MLCC...

Thermal Calculation for Linear Regulator

The loss in linear regulators increases as the difference between the input and output voltages increases. Since most of the loss is converted to heat, a very large amount of heat may be generated in some conditions...

Power Source ON/OFF Characteristics for Linear Regulator

When a linear regulator IC is turned ON, the electric charge is stored in the output capacitor and the output voltage increases up to the specified value.
