RoHS Compliance Information

All ROHM products are RoHS-compliant.*
* Except for certain customized products specifically requested by customers

ROHM ensures that the performance of its lead-free (external terminal) products is equal or superior to conventional products in terms of both solderability and junction reliability due to a lower melting point, improved wettability, and optimization of metallic characteristics. In addition, mountability, reliability, strength, and heat resistance are ensured, even when mounted using lead-free solder.

Regarding RoHS Compliance Data

Below are explanations regarding RoHS-compliance data.

Public Data

On the RoHS compliance page information is published on ROHM products. Please make separate inquiries regarding products that do not fall under this category.

Environmental Data

1. Product/Package - product/package designations
• Family
Does not contain information on packaging specifications, special specifications, rankings, etc.
• Part No.
Designation containing information on packaging specifications, special specifications, rankings, etc.
• Package Type
Designation of the external packaging of the product.

2. RoHS / High Temperature Information - Soldering Conditions
We disclose terminal plating characteristics, the viability of high-temperature solder, suitable temperature, and total weight.

3. RoHS Substances - The six substances prohibited by the RoHS directive
The RoHS directive discloses the content ratios of the six prohibited substances.
Reasons for exclusion will be noted for products containing lead - one of the six prohibited substances.

The six substances prohibited by the RoHS directive:
• Pb (lead)
• Cadmium
• Hg (mercury)
• Cr+6 (hexavalent chromium)
• PBB (polybrominated biphenyls of specified bromine flame retardants)
• PBDE (polybrominated diphenyl ethers of specified bromine flame retardants)
Note: ROHM does not intentionally use the six RoHS-prohibited substances other than lead.
Reasons for exclusion will be clearly noted for products containing lead.

The method of calculating the content ratios of the six substances prohibited by the RoHS directive is as follows:
• With respect to detected values, the average values for products are used.
• Calculation Example: Content Ratio (ppm) = Substance Amount (mg) / Total Product Weight (mg) × 1,000,000

4. Item / Sub-item Name - Constitution Materials List
The name, weight, and content ratio (%) are disclosed.

Principal Components
• Mold Compound (External Resin)
Resin that protects the internal element(s)/circuitry
• Lead Frame
The base that holds the element
• Die Attach (Die Bonding Material)
Bonds the element(s) to the lead frame
• Die
  Element (Chip)
• Bonding Wire
Connects the electrode of the element (chip) to the electrode of the lead frame
• External Plating
Plating that covers the lead frame
• Marking
  Used for product identification

Calculating the content ratios of constituent substances
With respect to detected values, the average values for products are used.
Calculation Example: Content Ratio (%) = Substance Amount (mg) / Gross Weight of Product Section (mg) × 100
Note: Result is displayed to the second decimal place (hundredths), except for items less than 0.01.

Disclaimers

ROHM strives to reliably provide products that are RoHS compliant by making information about constituent materials publicly available. However, we cannot guarantee the complete accuracy of such data, since much of it has been compiled based on information obtained from raw material suppliers and because some information may have been withheld due to a need to safeguard confidential information.
Please note that the data provides estimates of the average weights and content of component materials based on the aforementioned issues. In addition, the data does not include impurities or metals diffused in the silicon.
