SUMMARY

ROHM Semiconductor is an industry leader in system LSI, discrete components and module products, utilizing the latest in semiconductor technology. Our ROHM Powervation (RPV) group is actively seeking a motivated, seasoned Digital AC/DC and Isolated DC/DC Technical Product Marketing Manager to contribute to the team from our Santa Clara headquartered location.

The Technical Product Marketing Manager is responsible for coordinating the RPV operational activities related to a specific market. From the planning and execution through the product lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with LSI engineering team, other ROHM sales, business development, marketing and support to ensure the revenue growth and goals are met.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily to include but not limited to:

  • Gathers and interprets and gives feedback on customer requirements
  • Be an expert with respect to the associated technology, products and competition
  • Delivers MRDs and PRDs with prioritized features and corresponding justification
  • Carries out market and completion analysis
  • Defines product strategy and roadmap
  • Develops the core positioning and messaging for the product
  • Works with external 3rd parties on joint promotions or reference designs
  • Performs product demos to customers
  • Defines product pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals
  • Delivers weekly progress reports and monthly revenue forecasts; proposes budget and requirements; ensures success
  • Generates sales collateral and trains sales and FAEs
  • Acts as a leader within the company and bridges between HQ and the field
  • Coordinates RPV activities towards new emerging business
  • Analyzes and explores potential markets and applications, identifying were ROHM Powervation can play today, the gaps, and future technologies/products would be required for a sustainable business
  • Generates high-level business plans and promotes internally to various groups to gain support, resources and funding
  • Promotes ROHM Powervation and ROHM Semiconductor portfolios, roadmaps and competencies to potential customers
  • Leases with various ROHM teams to provide technical product support to Sales and FAEs
  • Travel up to apprx.30% (domestic and international)

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience/Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, or related disciplines) is required; advance degrees Master's or Ph.D. ideal, preferred; or combination of education and industry work experience
  • Minimum 6-10 year's digital power electronics experience in recent technologies and demonstrated skills & background supporting sales and marketing environment in Semiconductor/Electronics industry
  • Experience and understanding of networking & telecom applications, server market, gaming console and modular power supply manufactures
  • Experience and understanding of computing (serve, workstation, high-end motherboard, IPC)
  • Experience with Intel and AMD based voltage regulator specs & proprietary interfaces
  • Experience related to isolated DC/DC power supplies and Power Factor Correction circuits a plus
  • Experience with digital (full-digital and hybrid) and analog PWM controllers, and understanding of trade-off, advantages of each, and market trends
  • Long-term experience in product marketing and technical support activities
  • Experience in managing technical products

Background and Knowledge of:

  • Deep technical background in Power Electronics
  • Understanding of digital power, SMBus/I2C interfaces and PMBus command set
  • Understanding of controller, gate driver, & high voltage power devices for these converters, as well as design trade-offs related to EMI filtering techniques and design decisions
  • Understanding of basics of transformer design (materials used & trade-offs, and how design decisions affect cost, manufacturability, and system performance)
  • Market knowledge of the power semiconductor market
  • Proven capability in handling projects and being effective while interfacing with different teams
  • Demonstrated experience in successful customer and team relationships
  • Understanding semiconductor products, manufacturing processes and their applications
  • Strong computer proficiency - MS Office Suite, spreadsheets, databases and Internet, and operating mobile devices

Application Engineer- Power

SUMMARY

The Power Applications Engineer provides detailed device and application knowledge, assisting sales in product promotions and end customer selection and design-in process. Additionally, assists the development team in evaluating new products and participating in the go-to market rollout of new introduction and early proof of concepts. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide both hardware and software technical support for ROHM Powervation (RPB) digital power products

  • Assist in resolving customer technical issues
  • Support sales in promoting RPV products, including the application circuit design
  • Create reference designs and demo boards for end applications using RPV products
  • Validate new silicon or firmware products by creating test plans and using a combination of python automation and manual testing.
  • Collect customer input to drive Market Requirement Documents for new products proposals
  • Perform product benchmarking and competitive analysis
  • Support global marketing with trade-shows, product trainings, demos, and marketing collateral
  • Provide detailed technical knowledge within a specific market segment
  • Liaises with LSI teams, system test engineers to ensure resolution of customer returns

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience/Training:

  • BSEE minimum requirement; MSEE or PhD is highly desired and related semiconductor/electronic industry experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in digital POL, designing application boards and developing SW drivers; creating test reports and validating products; supporting customer design wins, either directly or indirectly (along with Sales/FAEs)

Background and Knowledge of:

  • Point of load (POL) high current buck power supplies for use in computing and networking markets
  • Digital control techniques and working with digital controlled (through an interface) power supplies.
  • General knowledge of other DC/DC topologies such as boost, buck-boost, forward, half-bridge, full-bridge, etc. is a plus
  • Markets/Applications: Server, high-end computing, networking, automotive. PMBus, I2C, SVID, SVI interface

Skills:

  • Excellent power supply design background including schematic generation, simulation, prototyping, and testing.

We are actively seeking a motivated developing to career level Automotive Sales Manager with a background in electrical engineering to assist in supplying automotive electronics related components or systems to our Tier 1 or 2 accounts and customer support as part of our sales divisions.

Summary

Seeking a motivated individual to manage US automotive accounts, increase the sales and maintain the profits.
