SUMMARY

ROHM Semiconductor USA has an immediate opening for an exceptional HW IC Applications Engineer with both hardware and software skills to provide detailed device and application knowledge, assisting sales in product promotions and end customer selection and design-in process. The qualified candidate for this position will get to work with leading companies in consumer, wearable, and IOT space while providing input in the concept stage of the design process. Additionally, assists the development team in evaluating new products and participating in the go-to market roll out of new introduction and early proof of concepts. As a vital team member, he/she:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily to include but not limited to:

  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to provide technical support during the promotional phase and cross referencing
  • Work closely with customers to provide telephone and onsite technical support during the design phase
  • Work closely with the development teams to assist in the validation process
  • Work closely with the marketing team to carry out competitor device tear downs, system BOM analysis and incubate/prototype new designs
  • Generate application notes, schematics, board layouts, BOM, internal/external reports, and plans
  • Work with 3rd party design houses and subcontracts
  • Perform detailed electrical analysis at device, system, HW, and SW levels
  • Participate in new product design reviews both internally and externally.
  • Run internal and external training program as well as design the material needed for the training
  • Participate in tradeshows, standard committee and seminars

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training and Experience:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a technical subject (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mix-signal design, etc.); Master's is desirable.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in power management, microcontrollers, sensors, AC DC, DC DC, battery management and a broad range of other market applications.
  • 4 to 10 years' experience working in a semiconductor industry, designing application circuits, SW drivers, and SW apps
  • Ability to multitask within and across different projects
  • Proficient verbal and written English language skills, Japanese language will be a plus
  • Experience working for a Japanese company is a plus
  • Possess a good degree of professional business acumen
  • Effective communication skills (written, oral and listening)
  • Effective people skills

Preferred Requirements/Skills:

  • Use of simulation tools such as Simplis and SPICE
  • Experience with Cadence-based Verification tools
  • Experience with Android / Linux embedded system development
  • Experience using RF power amplifiers and antennas

Background and knowledge of:

  • Write efficient firmware for low power micro controllers: 8/16 bits in C or assembly
  • Knowledge in Power over USB, Multi-phase power systems, Analog and Digital power, AC/DC, high frequency DC/DC, Battery management, PMIC, WiFi, RF, Bluetooth, wireless, high power solutions using SiC, GaN, Gate Drives, LED Drivers, Class D Amplifiers, Motor Drivers, variety of Sensors, wireless technologies, Microcontrollers and embedded systems, plus high level system design knowledge.
  • Equipment knowledge - EDA Tools, Analytical Software, MatLab, development environment software; Object or component oriented development software, scripting languages; Signal generators, circuit testers, electronic measuring probes, oscilloscopes, and Semiconductor process systems. PC, Mobile/wireless devices (Smart Phones, Tablets, Ultrabooks, etc)
  • Markets/Applications: PC, Mobile, Automotive, Office automation, Security and Handheld device markets; Smart Meters, Electronic Tags, Security Tags, Navigation, Medical, Audio and Video, and Software
  • Consult end users to test and debug applications to meet customer needs; assists in resolving customer technical issues
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve system design weaknesses
  • Support sales in promoting ROHMs products

IC and System Architect

IC and System Architect for high-performance Analog/Mixed-Signal systems

SUMMARY

ROHM Semiconductor has an immediate opening for an experienced IC and System Architect to work with development teams, product and solution marketing, applications and sales to capture and analyze requirements, and provide technical understanding of the various customer use cases, from a system level, translating their requirements into a set of features, functions and block level component specifications; working with Analog and Digital IC design engineers to review, guide, verify transistor level, block level and top-level designs for system requirement verification. Additionally this position coordinates the Design Center's input to the technology and IP roadmap.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily to include but not limited to:

  • Provide domain knowledge of analog circuit design, mixed-signal IC design
  • Understand design and verification methodologies, including the use of Cadence simulation tools
  • Work closely with IC architects, product and solution marketing, application engineers and sales
  • Understand the complete system, features, functions, partitioning, and how each component interacts
  • Be able to guide application engineers and PCB board design specialist on correct tradeoffs to achieve challenging performance specifications
  • Excellent communication skills to have detailed technical discussion with command of both depth (of IC design, fabrication, process technology) and breadth (in different application domains including consumer and industrial)
  • Required to be able to use fundamental equations to solve challenging optimization problems

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training and Experience:

Automotive Regional Sales Manager (Semiconductor)

SUMMARY

We are actively seeking a motivated developing to career level Automotive Sales Manager with a background in electrical engineering to assist in supplying automotive electronics related components or systems to our Tier 1 or 2 accounts and customer support as part of our sales divisions.

Summary

Seeking a motivated individual to manage US automotive accounts, increase the sales and maintain the profits. Interface with automotive and consumer electronics customers to negotiate contracts, win new business opportunities, build relationships, sell products and act as a first-line source of technical information. This position reports a Sr. Sales Manager and serves as an individual contributor with no supervisory responsibility. Qualified candidate will drive to build and maintain sales support to customers regarding technical issues, documentation, and design-in of products. Responsibility includes but not limited to, manage both customers and various resources within the company to meet financial, strategic and customer specific goals. Serve as the primary point of contact within an assigned area and/or for specific programs at existing customers. You will actively direct and coordinate the technical stage of the sales process working with all functional internal and external groups, such as sales team and engineering units.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily to include but not limited to:

  • Contact new and existing customers at many levels to promote, sell, and win the design-in of ROHM products
  • Ensure Quarterly Business Reviews are conducted at each representative location and follow-up with actions items
  • Provides assistance to customers through improved localized service
  • Provides in-depth knowledge of major customers and provides direction to ROHM team members regarding specific customer activities
  • Assist in all quoting activity for annual contracts and major bids
  • Assist Product Marketing groups with the implementation of sales plans and sales growth for specific accounts
  • Generate reports and perform forecasting duties
  • Monitor and control cost of field sales activities
  • Travel up to about 35% (domestic and international)

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Business or Marketing; or applicable major or equivalent combination of education/training and work experience, or equivalent industry work experience
  • Ideally 3-7 year's current work history and demonstrated skills & background supporting a sales and marketing environment in Semiconductor, Electronics (Automotive/Consumer) industry.

Background and Knowledge of:

  • Must be able to understand the market challenges and ROHM's business processes and product lines, market segments, and applications
  • Some technical background in Electronics would be helpful
  • Demonstrated experience in successful customer and team relationships
  • Electronics Distribution industry experience is a plus
  • Understanding semiconductor products, manufacturing processes and their applications
  • Strong computer proficiency and abilities, especially, MS Office Suite; spreadsheets, databases and Internet

Senior Process Development Engineer, Kionix

B.S or M.S in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or related field.

Requirements:

  • 5 + years experience with MEMS process development.
  • Experience with multiple semiconductor fabrication techniques such as silicon, metal, and dielectric etching; metal, LPCVD polysilicon, and dielectric deposition; and, lithography.
  • Strong preference to those with MEMS specific process experience such as through-wafer etching, TSVs, Eutectic bonding, wafer-to-wafer bonding, HF release.
  • Proficient at using design of experiments, failure analysis methodologies, FESEM analysis, and statistical process controls for process optimization and control.
  • Self-motivated and adept at oral and written presentations

Responsibilities:

  • Hands on process development for MEMS inertial sensors in a team setting with other process engineers and technicians.
