  • What is the difference between the BA178xx/BA178Mxx/BA78xx/BA78Mxx series linear regulators?
    • The BA178/78 series are Io=1A products while the BA178M/78M series feature an Io of 0.5A. The BA178xx and BA78xx series are the same products. The BA178xx series was developed as the industry standard 78 series and is widely known to customers in Japan, but overseas customers wanted to match the part number with the 78 series so the product was re-registered as the BA78xx series.

  • How do you handle the NC pins?
    • Since the NC pins are not connected to the IC chip, there should be no problem even if the pins are open, but we recommend connecting them to ground from the standpoint of heat dissipation.
