Overview

ROHM's RBxx8 Series of Schottky barrier diodes utilizes a special metal optimized for high temperature environments, resulting in the industry's lowest IR. In addition, thermal runaway is prevented even at high tempertaures, making them ideal for automotive systems and power supplies. They are also suitable for replacing rectification diodes for significantly lower VF, reducing power consumption in EVs and HEVs.

Ultra-low IR
100x lower than conventional Schottky barrier diodes, enabling stable operation at high temperatures


No thermal runaway at Ta=150ºC
Ultra-low IR prevents thermal runaway even at Ta=150ºC, enabling use at high temperatures in automotive systems and other applications

Key Feature 2 : Ideal replacements for rectification diodes

Low VF
40% lower VF than standard FRDs used in automotive applications result in lower power consumption 

Space-saving design
In the circuit examples below rectification diodes were replaced with ROHM's ultra-low IR Schottky barrier diodes, resulting in greater performance while contributing to end-product miniaturization.
