Kyoto International Music Students Festival 2008

We are pleased to inform you that the performance was a great success and attracted many people who attended the concert. Thank you very much.

We presented the 16th Kyoto International Music Students Festival 2008, an annual musical event held each spring in Kyoto. The Festival invited 119 students of premier music schools from 10 countries (21 students from 9 schools in 9 foreign countries and 98 students from 12 schools in Japan) to Kyoto to foster international exchange through music and to develop the skills of the young musicians. The Festival has been held 16 times in the past with 1,843 music students participating (362 from overseas, 1,481 from Japan). By performing at the Festival, these students have used music as a meaning to deepen their understanding each other. This year’s Festival featured a finale of works by a French composer to Selected Operas with French Esprit. Many people enjoyed the new musical perspective and performances of wonderful sensitivity of these young musicians from around the world.
