Key Encoder IC

ROHM's key encoder IC can monitor up to 64 keys (8x8 matrix), making it suitable for QWERTY keyboards. Only key changes are are encoded (8bit), reducing microcontroller load significantly compared with conventional systems that store the status of all keys in the registry. Additional functions include ghost key rejection, N-key rollover, Power ON Reset function, and an oscillator.
