LEDs
A unique Cu frame is used for significantly improved heat dissipation 60º/W when mounted on an FR-4 substrate (epoxy resin laminate om glass base). The result is the world's highest light intensity (7cd at 100mA) in the middle current range.

Expanding on our lineup of PICOLEDs™, the world's smallest, thinnest LEDs (1006 size), our new PICOLED™-eco features twice the brightness of conventional products in the low current range of 1mA while reducing power consumption by 50%. * January 2008 ROHM study
LED Display
ROHM numeric LED displays utilize original 4-element high brightness LEDs, making them the brightest in their class while ensuring virtually no brightness or color degradation, even during continuous, long-term use. A highly efficient design results in the same brightness as conventional products at 1/10th the current, contributing to greater energy savings.

Laser Diodes
Stable optical output characteristics and high breakdown resistance are just two characteristics of ROHM's original element structure. In addition, a thin, high heat-dissipating frame package is used, providing the ideal solution for compact equipment.
Optical Sensors
Stable characteristics with 1/3 the power consumption of conventional products have been achieved by making the peak wavelength of the LED closer to the peak sensitivity wavelength of the transistor.
