Ultra-low Current Consumption Quick Response Type CMOS Op-amps

ROHM Co., Ltd. has recently announced the development of the BU7265G/SG and BU7411G/SG series of CMOS op-amps that provide the industry's lowest current consumption (0.35µA) and slew rate (0.05V/µs), making them ideal for battery-driven sets. A total of 8 models are offered to fit a variety of needs, including full-swing/ground sense types and units capable of stable operation at up to 105ºC.
Electronic devices are increasingly designed to minimize power consumption. With this in mind, ROHM has focused attention on the expansion of its low current consumption CMOS operational amplifier series, optimized for small-signal amplification in portable devices and sensors. The BU7411G/SG series in particular combines ultra-low current consumption (0.35µA) with low voltage capability (from 1.6V), reducing power.
In addition to lower power consumption, there is a growing need for quick response (high slew rate) characteristics in multifunction devices and high-performance digital AV equipment. ROHM CMOS op-amps meet this requirement by providing a best-in-class slew rate of 0.05V/µs. The entire lineup also features high ESD resistance (4kV), providing a greater level of reliability.

•Terminology
- CMOS Operational Amplifier
An operational amplifier developed comprised only of MOSFETs.
- Slew Rate
Represents the maximum rate at which the output voltage of an op-amp can change. With fast pulses that are input and amplified the rising portion of the output often exhibits a slope. Slew rate helps in identifying the maximum input frequency that will not result in output distortion.
- Full Swing/Ground Sense
Indicates the range of compatible input/output voltages (signals)
・Full swing: Capable of handling voltages ranging from VDD to the minimum voltage (VSS).
・Ground sense: Ranges from VDD – a value V to the minimum voltage (VSS).
- ESD Resistance
Denotes the amount of electrostatic voltage the device can withstand before failure/breakdown.
- Bias Current
Refers to the current flowing in and out of the input terminal. For op-amps, the smaller the better.
