ROHM Semiconductor started the promotion of the MK67Q5250, an ultra compact stand-alone fingerprint authentication module. The MK67Q5250 combines the proven AuthenTec AES2510 fingerprint sensor with the innovative ML67Q5250 MCU, developed by Oki Semiconductor.
The ML67Q5250 is an ARM7 based MCU including embedded flash memory and an advanced hardware accelerator for biometric functions. By using these functions the module can handle tasks like fingerprint data registration, authentication, and data management without any external components. This allows easy implementation of the fingerprint authentication function into customer systems.
