ROHM Semiconductor ICs meet market needs for greener, more user-friendly sensing devices that provide greater interactivity with lower power consumption. In particular, ROHM's monolithic optical proximity sensor + digital ambient light sensor IC is ideally suited for portable products of all types, especially sets requiring touchless motion control.

The BH1771GLC integrates an LED driver in the proximity sensor block for driving 3 peripheral infrared LEDs. A receiver block in the sensor IC utilizes time division light emission to detect the light reflected off of people and objects and analyzes the phase difference. Simply connect the IC to device screens to detect movement a number of cm above the sensor IC. BH1771GLS is the  ideal solution for any application requiring touchless motion sensing.
