ROHM actively promotes to minimize the impact its activities and products have on the environment as much as possible. All aspects of production and design are carefully considered, taking into account the entire product life cycle and long-term energy consumption, both during operation and standby, up to and including end of life, disposal, and recycling. Efforts to a lower carbon footprint

Global warming by greenhouse gases, as typifi ed by carbon dioxide (CO2), is an extremely serious problem that threatens the continued existence of humans. It is said that the melting of Antarctic ice by global warming and the resulting rise in ocean levels will inundate some land areas.

In the ROHM Group, we have made global warming prevention our number 1 environmental action goal, and have made efforts in various areas of our activities.

Reduce energy consumption by manufacturing sections

ROHM has been working on the ROHM Production System (RPS), a highly efficient production line that produces semiconductors with minimal energy consumption. Having developed key production facilities, ROHM continues to commit itself to enhancing QCD (quality, cost and delivery) as much as possible. Given this commitment, RPS is making considerable energy-saving contributions with improved production efficiency as well as the elimination of waste.

Reduce greenhouse gas emissions other than CO2

As an active member of the Global Warming Prevention Committee committee, founded by the Industry in Japan in 1999, ROHM initiated an action plan to reduce PFC gas emissions.

CO2 countermeasures in logistics

At ROHM we have implemented measures such as increasing loading ratios through crossdock shipping and modifying the shipping frequency and we continue with optimizing logistics operations in order to reduce CO2emissions.
