In order to build things in an environmentally friendly way it is not enough if ROHM is the only one taking on the reduction of environmental burden. ROHM must also have the vendors from which it receives materials work towards reducing this burden.

In addition to QCD (Quality, Cost, and Delivery), ROHM adds E (Environmental factors) as an item required to evaluate our vendors. ROHM asks vendors who are already in compliance to take their efforts to the next level, and ROHM also supports vendors who are not yet compliant to encourage everyone to participate in the protection of the global environment.

In particular, ROHM asks its vendors to provide accurate information regarding the components of materials and secondary materials in order to satisfy the European WEEE and RoHS directives, and also requires a guarantee that no prohibited substances are used. Because our objective is to build things in an environmentally friendly way domestically and overseas with the help of our vendors, ROHM will continue to deal with suppliers who conform to the ROHM Green Procurement Criteria.

In order to manufacture products with low environmental impact, ROHM revised its “green” procurement standards in 2006. Pursuant to this revision, ROHM requests all ROHM Group vendors to further strengthen their environmental management systems and guarantee that no materials and parts delivered by them use or include substances prohibited by ROHM. Also, ROHM has accurate information regarding substances with environmental impact with respect to all elements included in materials and parts for ROHM's products, and ROHM has constructed a framework to ensure that prohibited substances are not included in ROHM's products.

ROHM Green Procurement Criteria
