Using relatively inexpensive thermal paper has been shown to shorten the lifetime of the printhead due to the relatively abrasive surface conditions, resulting in abnormal wear, scratching, and electrolytic corrosion. In answer to this ROHM developed a protective film using a hard substance. Dubbed 'T Coat', it provides 3 times the abrasion resistance of normal coats. |
