ROHM's LCD Segment Driver ICs

ROHM's LCD segment drivers make it easy to add segment display functionality to existing sets with minimal wiring and no microcontroller load by incorporating RAM. In addition, the low-power-consumption design enables continuous display in portable devices.

By incorporating display RAM in addition to a liquid crystal power supply and transmission circuits using low-power-consumption technology developed for mobile phones, ROHM's LCD segment drivers can easily reduce the power consumption of not only the LCD drivers themselves, but of the entire system as well.
 
1. The liquid crystal driving voltage generating circuit is equipped with a buffer amp, reducing current consumption.
   
2. A typical 4SPI interface is used and is compatible with other ICs.
   
3. RAM is built into the data holding circuit. Communication time can be reduced due to the ability to forward only the data to be updated and the capability to display data from RAM that can send one time data.
   
4. Shutdown of the internal transmission circuit and constant SEG/COM output voltage minimizes power consumption in standby mode.

In addition to mobile telephones, large household electrical appliances, and AV equipment, a wide variety of sets can be easily equipped with display functionality using ROHM's LCD segment driver ICs.
