Overview
Current digital TVs and multimedia monitors feature at least one HDMI terminal in order to ensure compatibility with full high definition devices such as HDD recorders, movie cameras, and Blu-ray disc recorders. HDMI allows transmission of high definition video and uncompressed audio data with content protection protocols.

4-input/1-output HDMI Switch IC
|
The BU16020KV, ROHM's newest HDMI switch IC, features 3-input switching capability and support for HDMI ver. 1.3a. An equalizer, multiplexer, and high speed differential driver with DDC buffer amp are integrated into a single chip, resulting in stable 2.7Gbps audio/video transmission over long cables up to 20m in length. In addition, RAM is built in for storing EDID (monitor) information.

Integrated Adaptive Equalizer
| The BU16020KV offers automatic control of the equalized values for superior signal transmission (compared with conventional fixed equalizers), resulting in reliable communication over long cables up to 20m in length. |

The BU16020KV integrates dedicated memory for storing EDID data. This eliminates the need for an external EEPROM in the channel block, reducing costs as well as mounting area. |
