ROHM's 3ch programmable clock generators integrate 3 clocks into a single chip, providing the optimal solution for today's digital applications requiring multiple clocks. The programmable clock method enables arbitrary clock settings via serial interface, and high precision capability not only makes synchronization possible, it eliminates interference effects often caused by other clocks. In addition, the number of parts required is reduced, saving valuable board space.

The frequency at PLL2 is generated using PLL1 as a reference, and PLL3 is generated based on PLL2. The frequency multiplier can be set to any value (a ROHM patent) for broad compatibility.
