Overview

ROHM card interfaces ICs were designed to provide signal level adjustment between ISO7816-3-compatible CAS (i.e. B-CAS) cards and smart cards and card controllers as well as act as a card power supply. Multiple protection circuits (i.e. thermal shutdown, overcurrent protection, and low voltage malfunction prevention), combined with 6kV (HBM) ESD resistance at the card connector terminal, ensure a greater level of safety and reliability.
A new model with built-in LDO regulator, the BD8919F, joins our current lineup of products that integrate a DC/DC converter.

    The BD88919F card interface IC with built-in LDO regulator was designed after carefully considering pin layout. As a result, no jumpers or bridges are necessary, simplifying design significantly.

    The BD8919F card interface IC integrates an LDO regulator for card power supply, level shifter, and multiple protection circuits into a compact SOP16 package. In addition, fewer parts are required compared to our lineup of card interface ICs with built-in DC/DC converter, contributing to smaller set designs.
