Double dimming function significantly reduces power consumption

ROHM LED drivers for LCD backlights feature a PWM input pin designed for connection with image processor ICs that enable backlight adjustment based on image brightness. In addition, a sensor control sequence compatible with both log/linear light sensors is built in that varies the brightness based on ambient conditions. This dual dimming functionality makes ROHM drivers ideal for portable devices, where energy efficiency is a priority.

 

Suppresses step-up output fluctuations and eliminates output capacitor ringing

Systems that utilize PWM signals for brightness adjustment are often susceptible to output capacitor ringing. ROHM's unique technology suppresses step-up circuit output fluctuations, significantly reducing output capacitor ringing. This simplifies module development load while reducing the number of components required.

 

Simply connect the BD6092GU to existing systems to enable dimming functionality

ROHM dimming controller ICs (i.e. BD60910GUL) remove the LED driver component and integrate just the dimmer control circuit and senser interface, making it easy to add double dimming functionality to existing systems (with LED driver).

 

Automatic sensor gain control function

ROHM LED drivers for LCD backlights are compatible with both log and linear light sensors for dimming based on ambient light. In addition, an automatic 2-stage gain switching function based on input from the sensor IC is built in, enabling precise brightness adjustment over a wide range.
